OUGD402 - Lord Whitney Visit

The Lord Whitney studio was kind enough to allow my course to visit their studio and talk to us about their experience in-between graduation of university and where they are now. This talk was incredibly engaging as they were so truthful and honest about their journey. It was interesting to hear professional designers admit that they were just students that almost by accident started a studio as a group of friends. They spoke to us incredibly informally and proved that you can start from anything as long as you work hard and do what you love. Their studio was full of random stuff they had collected over the years and it was clear they were passionate about what they do.

Unfortunately I had to leave the talk early but emailed them to thank them and asked them a few questions and they gave me advice to do what I enjoy and work hard, be open to opportunities and say yes to lots of projects. It was great to talk to two young creatives that found success in what they love and they have inspired me to find a passion and pursue it.

One aspect that was obvious is that they had built their studio from random items they collected. I was captivated by this chair so I thought i'd show you.
