OUGD402 - Self Branding Research - Stop Motion Advert

I have researched further into stop motion campaigns and came across the new OXO adverts, created by JWT London and PES Film. These short advertisements demonstrate how an OXO product can turn any ingredients into a tasty meal. Everyday play things are shown to be cut up and mixed in a pan and when an OXO cube is used, the dish turns into a tasty meal. This advert works really well to advertise that OXO's products are what gives a meal its great flavour from any ingredients.





PES Film create lots of animations in this style and have been awarded Baftas for their short films.




I also came across Zach Lower, a visual creator who produces short animations. He aims to produce a video every day and produces a mixture of shorts. He believes that animation makes for a more exciting visual than basic film and blogs his video using his website or Instagram.

This is exactly the style of animation that I want to experiment with. I want to produce products with my own style of packaging and have them dance around. This will demonstrate my style of design well as well as being visually engaging. It is clear that these campaigns have a clear message behind them so I will have to start thinking about my own story behind the video.
