OUGD402 - Laser Cutter Induction

Today I was inducted on the laser cutter in the woodwork room. This tool is incredibly useful and allows me to cut into any material with a variety of effects. This tool will be really useful for my current project as I am printing designs with stamps and lino to produce packaging.

This induction even allowed me to experiment with some of my initial designs which was great because I could see exactly how the cutter worked and how I need to edit my designs so they print better. I noticed that small text is difficult to engrave when making a design that can be printed with, so I will have to alter the designs in this aspect.

I am looking forward to printing my designs on a variety of stocks. I emailed G.F. Smith and Paper Back asking for samples and have received a huge variety of organic natural looking stocks and even stock that has been produced through a recycling process, which I am going to print onto.
