After creating our initial concept we had to figure out a name for our collective and what our collective would do. Myself and Thea are keen on producing work traditionally and both get frustrated with traditional print methods reputation of being arty and pretentious and both feel it is still a viable method of printing. We decided that we would produce a publication, using our skills, to demonstrate such printing methods being used at an industry level.
We decided to call ourselves The Pub Collective as it is short for publication and we share a love for going to the pub. It would target our audience as well as creating a studio space with a bar that we would use for networking and events. Thea produced a logo concept and I produced the pitch presentation. Kate mocked up some concepts for our publication. We pitched our collective concept to a group before receiving feedback. When asked the question "are you already doing this?' we all decided this was a viable project we could take part in in the following years of our practice and is something I am keen to work on in the future.
