A session was run on the most effective way to find professional's emails and contact them. This information is very constructive and I will apply this strategy when getting in touch with people to get a foot in the door of this industry.
There were three tools given, that can successful in doing this. The first way to try and find professionals contact details is to simply use LinkedIn. Once connected to someone you can simply send them an instant message on that platform, or their email will be available on their account.
Another useful tool to use is Hunter, that will search the internet for email addresses. Using a company's domain name, it will provide various contact. To double check the legitimacy of an email, you can use Google verbatim. Searching the email address to find out if it is their definite contact details.
To engage the professional you are emailing it will be useful to give your email context so that they are interested. This can be done by researching their interests to spark a conversation.
It is always good not to send blanket mail, however if there are several emails online for the same person, the BCC tool can be used in any mail application. What is known as 'ghost spam', the BCC tool is like CC-ing another contact into an email, except it doesn't tell the receiver they are part of a blanket mail.
It is also important to consider the time zone if contacting someone internationally. The morning is a good time to to send mail as it is often the first thing a professional does in the day. 6-8 am is a good time for a busy professional.
