Print fairs are common throughout Leeds and positively influence my own practice as well as being a handy tool to network. When I visit print fairs I am keen to learn what sells and see the potential of traditional print methods. At this particular print fair I caught up with an old friend who is a student at this college. He talked me through his process of printing, where he creates a negative by mono printing with lino before exposing that onto a screen to produce screen prints in number. This practice would be incredibly beneficial to my own practice. My PPP project last year involved mono printing packaging. Being able to use screen printing would allow me to produce a large number of designs as well as have the benefit of the durability of screen printing ink. This is a technique that I will bare in mind when I am developing my personal branding project further.
