OUGD502 - End of Module Evaluation

In this module, I aimed to get into contact with the professionals I most admired, and those from countries who's work I appreciate most. I was successful in doing this and achieved that aim. Whats more I got in contact with professionals in my own country who had experience working abroad. I helped to learn how people work in a different environment to their own. I have worked to contact outside physical boundaries to make my network that much bigger and I am hoping it will give me more opportunity for myself in the future. My work was informed by the professionals themselves and it has created successful work that I am impressed by, it is different to the work I would typically produce. 

This module was more successful than previous modules, and I feel my time was well used and I kept on top of things. My time management went well and I was under no pressure before hand in. I made sure my attendance was up-kept and I was present for all briefings. I feel the quality of my work is always improving and this module in particular is no exception. I am happy with how this module had turned out and am keen to expand my exploration oven more in my final year. 

It was my intention to contact international creatives to inform my own approach to working abroad, a long term ambition of mine. This strategy was successful and what was even more successful was talking to British creatives who have themselves worked abroad. This helped to inform my own approach to achieving this and their advice was most useful. This module developed into contacting even more professionals that I didn't plan to in the first place, increasing my network.

I ensured that I have kept up to date with current events taking place in Leeds, particularly those that have informed my own practice. Doing this is is always beneficial. Research I have done and talking to creatives has informed my own practice in my personal time and with personal projects as well as my professional work. I feel my skills have increased even more and my screen printing quality has vastly improved. The final poster series is at a high standard, maybe the highest standard I have screen printed. The creative report has been presented digitally but maybe would have been more engaging as a physical print, which is something to consider next year. I enjoyed screen printing and it was successful. The design decisions taken were well informed and the feedback I received helped to create a successful and engaging design.

I am very impressed with the final result of this project and I am happy with how prepared I have been for this hand in. I feel the quality of my work is at a high standard and it has increased my confidence in exploring my practice further. This was a good start to expanding my global network and I am keen to expand it further in the next year.
