This brief involves getting in contact with creatives and interviewing them to inform a creative report. It is important that the creative report has a beneficial part to my own practice. For this creative report it is important that I interview creatives that I particularly aspire to or that will benefit my approach to the industry.
Recently I have been very interested in particular studios work, especially studios abroad. I have noticed the work of studios and creatives in Mexico and Portugal, Norway and Hungary. These studios create work I really admire and inspire to work towards working abroad. I would love to work with these people in their countries because I love the style that they produce.
One of my most favourite creatives is from Hungary. Miklos Kiss works on corporate identity and packaging design, combining features of architecture, fine art and design. It is his packaging design that really interests me. The way he uses type really inspires my own practice. I would love to establish a connection with him and this is the perfect opportunity to do so. Milks photograph's his work in a very engaging way and it is inspiring me to do so myself.
I have been keen on the design produced by design duo Olsson Barbieri. It is a studio founded by Henrik Olsson and Erika Barbieri. They work on branding and identity as well as packaging design on luxury, culture and wine and spirits. Their work influences my own use of type in my work and fuels my interest in packaging design.
Volta is a Portuguese brand shaping studio who focusses on branding and brand strategy, editorial design and packaging design. Their work is colourful and alternative and is highly engaging. I am keen on their use of colour and their overall style of design.
A studio who's work I like that is similar to Volta's work, through their connection of Latin America, is Savvy studio. I am keen on their use of clean and simple design and they influence my own use of white space.
Another studio who I am interested in is another Mexican studio called Analogo. This studio works on editorial design and packaging. This studio is another who photographs their work in an engaging way using colour backdrops that suits their finished design. This is another aspect that I'm interested in developing into my own work.
These studios and creatives are those who I aspire to work with and have initiated a geographical appreciation for certain styles of design. I intend to get in touch with these studios and creatives and start a communication with them to continue through my professional practice.
