I also helped to produce the posters to publicise the launch event. This involved screen printing onto tracing paper. The traditional print method used represents the methods of the work that was submitted to feature within the magazine. Engaging with this helped to improve my own screen printing skills which I am planning to bring into my personal branding and visual identity work.
Working with NEST involved visiting Pressision, the press responsible for printing the magazine. This was incredibly useful and I had a few questions about the process myself. I learned a lot more about the print process and the processes that the press provides. I also got to know a couple of the staff at Pressision who are keen to answer any questions I have in the future.
Working with NEST has grown my interest in a union role and I have submitted an entry for communications officer. This role will involve branding aspects of the student union and will improve my organisation skills and public speaking skills as well. I will need to create a successful campaign to be voted as communications officer and will positively benefit my professional practice.
