OUGD602 - Spectrecom Films Placement Week 1

During the first week, Andre showed me how the company schedules their weekly material that they publish on Facebook and Twitter. It was useful to understand how a professional company manages its promotional and social media content.

For the Monday, I wrote a digital marketing update article that they publish each week. I was surprised to see a large scale company using Wordpress as their website platform. But I got used to being an admin on the site.

In the first week I got used to sitting in on meetings and got a feel for how they are executed. It was useful to already have this experience from the union but also built on my experience that I can take forward in any future career.

I also got to know the team a little more and learnt a little about each of their roles. It was useful to see the structure of a professional studio.

The biggest shock to me was getting used to the early starts and commuting to and from work. However, I have started to enjoy the London lifestyle and it has showed me I would be happy to move to London for work after University.
