I was approached by a client to design a logo for their media company. This logo would be used on their website, on business cards and in letterheads and invoices etc. It was the first experience working for a genuine client, and it made me realise the reality of business.
The media company covers sporting events, music events and festivals and offers a range of packages to cover their client's events. They also provide the option to live stream events through Facebook or Youtube. They completed a company guideline form sent to them with questions covering their ethos and brand goals.
With this in mind, the initial brainstorming focussed on trends in online video streaming services. A look at popular typography choices in current media brands and symbolism that is recognisable of streaming services influenced a lot of the design choices. The brand needed to look young and ready to expand, requiring a modern and bold logo.
After a series of brainstorming concepts, some logo sketches were drawn up before being pitched to the client. The client was fond of the chosen typeface and colours. The final logo uses a round san serif to represent its modernity, and the red signal symbol represent's their ability to stream their service as well as being a connected to colour to recording.
The final logo is in use on their website.
